Alan Parker- pupil 1961 - 1967

I was at school from 1961 to 1967. I now live in Veracruz, Mexico, living as a radio broadcaster ( in Spanish ) after having studied English, French and German at school... none of which I excelled in! Whereas you wished you had taken German, when you had the choice, I should have taken Spanish... guess we never know what life has in store for us!  I now have my own radio programmes ( www.grupofm.com ).....Mar FM, where I have to speak totally in Spanish... which is really wierd, as I was a truly bad linguistic student at school!

Nice to see all the old faces, yet so sad to see the demise of our once great school. Noting Mr. Wilson's ice-cold stare still brings chills down my spine, remembering the infamous daily reports and the Friday canings for three crosses or more on the report card! Even a couple of 'goods' were no escape from this painful destiny. At junior school, we used to get the cane on the hand for wrong-doing, so you can imagine my surprise and shock, when holding out my hand, having amassed a healthy quota of such crosses, and suddenly being told to bend over!!!! I can still remember running around the boss's office on my knees and holding my poor, aching buttocks, after my first hair-raising encounter! Luckily, very few of us were members of that exclusive club.

Thanks again for such a great site.

Alan

P.S. I started off life at the Brushes in Foch with Daz... great guy and a very good teacher.
