Honours Board

The School Honours Board was situated in the former staff entrance hall (through the main doors) to the school.
Writing in the very first school magazine, Dr Chapman wrote: "Our School has no roots in the distant past, we have no records on ancient parchment. Our founders and benefactors are men of this century so it is our responsibility to be the makers of a tradition, and what we make of our School now will be a matter of pride or disappointment to those who come after. It should be borne in mind that it is not the great scholar or the magnificent athlete who alone makes a school tradition - it is a spirit of the School that matters most and nothing could prevent that School from becoming great of which it might be said that all its members, at work, at play, at school and at home, were never content with second-best. Firth Park is young, but the type of education is gives is old and of proven excellence. No finer type of education has ever been devised, nor is it likely to be."
The Honours Board was created to mark those in which the School could be proud. It is interesting to note that no additions were added to it after 1957.
The School Honours Board now in the trusteeship of the Firth Park Grammar School Reunion Group.
