Richard Johnson - pupil 1960 - 67
|
I have just spent quite a while looking at the site-
you have done a wonderful job. I was at FPGS at the same time as
Andy Guion (1960-67)so a lot of the material
he has sent is relevant. Just to add one or two snippets: prior to the trip to Italy in the ex-army lorry we gave a donation and in return received a piece of lava, which I still have. We went on a couple of field trips to the cottage near Grassington. Prior to those we went in the army lorry and collected some bunk beds from an army camp near to Ilkley with Chas Holmes. In the photograph of teachers in 1962 I wondered if any of the question marks could be Trevor Horsefield or Alan Wood - they were my form masters in the 1st and 3rd years or Mr Snook (Biology) - or did he come later? One thing that has not been mentioned is the school clubs. I remember belonging to the Radio Club run by Jimmy Wheeler in his 1st floor Chemistry lab. Many thanks Richard Johnson |
